Auxiliary powered Gloucester fishing schooner designed and built by Arthur D. Story, Essex, MA, 1927 for Capt. Manuel Goulart of Gloucester. LOA: 83.70', Breadth: 21.20', Depth: 10.20'. Model shows its 1927 swordfishing configuration with upper topmast shroud lookout rigging, bow pulpit & harpoon, four nested dories, and several harpoon line barrels. It was later converted to otter trawling. She fished the North Atlantic for 55 years and is now exhibited at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum. Waterline lift hull, scribed-in planking, built-up bulwarks, detailed iron work & fittings, delicately rigged with linen, furled sails of silk span, authentically painted with a deep red anti-fouling bottom and black topsides. Includes a glazed cover trimmed in brass, a recessed beveled mirror and mahogany baseboard with small drawer and cast engraved plaques.
