Extreme miniature diorama showing Agate, a small New England whaler, built at Essex in 1853, loading supplies and her boats under repair wharf side. The model is built up of holly and her hull is individually planked-over. She has copper sheathing and all rigging is of wire with actual know tie-offs. Beautifully detailed deck houses and tryworks as well as various figures and flying seagulls
