A classic extreme miniature bone model depicting a typical Napoleonic era Third-Rate, ship of the line. The model shows all traditional features of such an armed vessel, with its hull fully planked-over and pinned in bone, and includes delicate stern and quarter gallery carving detail. It is nicely rigged with general standing and running lines of linen or silk threads. The model is mounted on an original straw marquetry baseboard, which has been recessed into a ebonized wooden base with a glazed cover trimmed in ebonized brass, and a hand lettered gold leaf plaque.
