U.S. Gunboat
by Philip S. Reed
The waterline model under sail is a great depiction of a classic Jeffersonian era gunboat built on the western rivers circa 1805.
The model is a solid wood hull construction, planked-over & presented waterline style. It is authentic topsail sloop rig, with twisted copper wire appropriately painted, treated and painted tissues sails with proper shape and configuration. Includes accurate deck gear, armament, furniture and fittings and set in a wood hand-sculpted and painted sea, in a custom glazed case of burl lancewood veneer, and two engraved brass.
