United States 32-gun frigate designed by William Hackett and built by Enos Briggs of Salem, Massachusetts, in 1799. She was presented to the United States Government by the citizens of Essex County, Massachusetts and participated in the Barbary Wars and the War of 1812. The model has a semi-solid wood hull construction, with built-up gun decks, applied bulwarks and laid decking. The paint scheme shows its as built configuration with ocher topsides and black thick wale, while the bottom is fully copper sheathed. Authentic ship rig, complete and accurate deck gear, armament, fittings, and decorative work including a figurehead of a full dressed Indian warrior and scroll work on the stern. The model is mounted on a custom fitted stained mahogany and burl wood veneered baseboard, with a glazed cover trimmed in brass, and engraved name plaque.
