This replica of the 82’ vessel shown with its minimal armament typical of small merchantman having six four pounder carriage guns. Circa 1750 she was designed by noted architect Fredrik H. Chapman for trade around northern European waters and was comparable to British brigs or snow rigged vessels of the era. The hull of the model is built-up plank-on-frame construction with sawn and doubled frames all treenail fastened. All hull and deck planking is individually laid and pegged. Keel, stem, stern post are cherry. Frames are pear, hull planks are Bermuda cedar, deck planks are olive. Whales are ebony. Molding, trim, fittings are boxwood, masts are birch, spars are cherry. Cannons are turned brass oxidized black. Presented on a custom walnut base, glazed cover trimmed in brass with ivory engraved plaque.
